DDC Elections: 7 candidates in fray for 4th phase from Aloosa Panchayat block in Bandipora | KNO

Bandipora, Nov 23 (KNO): As many as seven candidates have submitted their nomination papers to contest the District Development Council (DDC) elections from Aloosa Panchayat block in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district in the fourth phase. Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that seven candidates have submitted nomination papers to contest the upcoming DDC elections during the fourth phase from Aloosa panchayat block. They said that during the fourth phase of the forthcoming DDC elections, Aloosa panchayat block that is reserved for woman will go to polls on December 07. An official said that notification for Aloosa block was issued on November 13 while the last date for submitting the nomination papers and withdrawing the same was November 20 and 23 respectively. Notably, 10 woman candidates had filed the nomination papers to contest the polls, however, three among them withdrew their nomination papers today and the rest 07 will be contesting the DDC polls from Aloosa block. Out of these 07 woman candidates, 4 will be contesting the polls “independently” while the rest 3 will be contesting the polls on their respective party tickets. Notably, the PAGD has fielded a National Conference candidate from this block as part of the seat-sharing pact of the alliance while Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party and BJP have also fielded their candidates from the same block—(KNO)
